The 10th Jazz Autumn Festival, one of the most important events of its kind in Europe, will be held Nov. 15-18 in the southern city of Bielsko-Biała.

Featuring some of the finest jazz composers and performers from around the world, the festival has for a decade championed jazz as not only a music genre, but also as an attitude, a way of thinking and a lifestyle. The festival’s artistic director is famous Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stańko.

This year’s festival will feature laid-back fusion by the Jan Garbarek Group & Trilok Gurtu, modern jazz from James Farm and classic jazz verging on be-bop, played by the Billy Hart Quartet. Festival guests will include female vocalist and arranger Maria Pia De Vito, who will perform a project entitled In Compagnia d’Amore. The spectacular Athens Concert will see Charles Lloyd teaming up with Greek vocalist Maria Farantouri.
