August 16, 2013
Poland's GDP grew by 0.8% year on year in the second quarter 2013 and by 0.4% quarter on quarter, according to a Wednesday flash estimate, an early estimate based on incomplete information, by central stats office GUS.
"There are reasons to believe that individual consumption had a positive impact on second quarter GDP," head of national accounts at GUS Maria Jeznach told reporters Wednesday.
Economists surveyed by PAP estimated second quarter GDP growth at 0.7% year on year.
In the first quarter, Poland's GDP growth measured 0.5% year on year, according to GUS's preliminary estimates published in late May and confirmed on Wednesday.
The quarter on quarter growth was revised to 0.2% from 0.1%.
The stats office will publish a full estimate of second quarter GDP figures on August 30 at 10:00 a.m. local time.
