Business meetings, a conference and a Gala Dinner at the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria hotel are just some of the events that took place in Warsaw as part of this year’s Belgian Days Nov. 6-24, organized by the Belgian Business Chamber (BBC) together with the Belgian Embassy in Poland and the economic representative offices of the regions of Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels. The Belgian Days featured a long list of events for both executives interested in establishing business contacts with Belgium and for lovers of Belgian culture.

During the CEO Forum, executives from the largest Belgian companies operating on the Polish market met with the authorities of the city of Warsaw. The event provided an opportunity to discuss the development prospects of the Polish capital in areas such as demographics, infrastructure, construction and management of the Vistula riverside.

The highlight of the Belgian Days was the Gala Dinner (pictured), which brought together diplomats and business and culture leaders. During the event, the board of the Belgian Business Chamber handed out awards to Belgian companies. The double winner was Ghelamco Poland, a developer and general contractor for offices, residential buildings and distribution and commercial centers. Ghelamco received an award from the Belgian Business Chamber as a company with Belgian capital that has been active on the Polish market for at least 10 years and which has been promoting Polish-Belgian relations. Ghelamco also walked away with the Best Belgian Exporter Award in the services category.

The award for best exporter in the goods category went to Reynaers Aluminium NV, a company developing and manufacturing architectural aluminium systems.

A performance by singers trained by Prof. Wlodzimierz Zalewski, a prominent opera singer linked to the National Opera in Warsaw and the Wielki Theater in £ód¼, added splendor to the event.

This year’s Belgian Days were accompanied by a variety of cultural events. Participants in an urban game could test and improve their knowledge of Belgium, and fans of Belgian cuisine could appreciate it to the fullest during the Mussels and Fries evening, an event that included a tasting of typical Belgian dishes and entertainment with Belgian pop and rock music.
