Lucyna Olborska, deputy director of the Polish Centre for Accreditation (PCA), is the first Pole elected to a high-level management post in the European co-operation for accreditation (EA). She was elected to the EA Executive committee during a General Assembly in Bratislava, Slovakia, Nov. 21-22. The heads of all 35 EA Full Members—European national accreditation bodies affiliated in the EA— voted at the meeting.

Olborska is a graduate of the University of Economics in Poznań and the Warsaw School of Economics (postgraduate studies). She has been working at the PCA since its inception in 2001, but she has worked in the accreditation field since 1994. Since that time she has conducted more than 100 assessments as lead assessor in accreditation processes.

In 2005, Olborska was qualified by the EA Multilateral Agreement Council as an EA evaluator and conducted an evaluation of accreditation bodies in Romania (2006), Denmark (2008) and Italy (2010).

Since 2009, Olborska has been serving as Deputy Director and Head of the Accreditation Office at the Polish Centre for Accreditation.
