The winners of the Best Airline Competition of the year 2012 have been adjudicated in Wroc³aw. The prizes were awarded during the ceremony on Thursday evening. It was the first time that the privilege of hosting the awards' ceremony was descended on Wroc³aw Airport. Portal Pasazer.com was the founder of the award and organizer of the gala.

During this year edition of the competition – the ninth one – there was top level record breaking amount of 27 000 votes!

For three months did the passengers voted for the best: low-cost airline, charter airline and traditional airline being in charge of the transport from and back to Poland. The competition took place through the Pasazer.pl portal.

In addition there was also the voting of the council consisting of the authorities of air transport. The prizes were awarded during the gala that took place in the city of Wroc³aw for the first time in the award's history. The venue brought to the capitol city of Lower Silesia over the hundred of the most prominent representatives of the air transport industry in this part of Europe, such as airlines' heads, tour-operators, the headmasters of polish airports and the main facilities related to aviation and air transport.

The venue is commonly considered one of the most important events in the air transport industry. Due to that fact we feel proud because of having been honored with the privilege of hosting this year's edition of the award here in the Wroc³aw Airport. - speaks Dariusz Ku¶, the head of the Wroc³aw Airport. - The initiative of the portal Pasazer.pl deserves special reverence and attention, because it allows passengers to express their opinion. It is they who can rate our services in the most precise way and verify the declarations of aviation companies - adds Dariusz Ku¶.

In the year 2012, according to the voting in the internet, Quatar Airlines was awarded as the best traditional airline. Despite the fact the company has just run the connection with Poland, the line from Persian Gulf has won the appreciation of polish passengers. These were only few weeks to be enough for the Qatar carrier to defeat it's rivals – former leaders of the ranks. The winner of the second prize was Lufthansa and the third one was handed on to PLL LOT.

The council consisting of the authorities of air transport, headmasters of airports and journalists appreciated also Quatar Airways, considering it's head the manager of the year and acclaiming the route from Warsaw to Doh the track of the year.

The winner of the prize in the category of low-cost line was once again Wizz Air, that achieved it the ninth time in a row, overtaking Ryanair and Easy Jet. Enter Air was distinguished among the charter lines, beating in the competition Bingo and Small Planet Airlines. - Among the carriers for business the winner was Lufthansa, although soon can it be changed due to the increasing development of the airlines from the Middle East. The spectacular and extraordinarily short story of OLT Express was not forsaken during the ceremony. The rise and fall of this airline were acclaimed the occurrence of the years – says Pawe³ Cybulak, editor-in-chief of Pasazer.com

The venue took place under the honorary auspices of the city mayor, Rafa³ Dutkiewicz and the marshal of the voivodeship, Rafa³ Jurkowlaniec. Regional Airports' Association and Higher School of Management and Information Technology were the official partners of the enterprise.
