Article's tools:

Marcin Muszel joined Gide Loyrette Nouel ("Gide") as a partner in its Warsaw office (Real Estate practice).

Prior to joining Gide Loyrette Nouel, Marcin worked for Linklaters, having previously worked for Clifford Chance, CMS Cameron McKenna and AIG/Lincoln.

Marcin has more than 14 years of experience in advising on all types of mainstream real estate transactions including acquisitions and disposals of commercial buildings, real estate M&A transactions, leasing, joint ventures, sale and leasebacks, assembling land, development and zoning law aspects, asset management work as well as administrative procedures related to real estate development. He has been working for a number of key players on the market, including developers, large corporate clients, banks, shopping centre operators, investment and pension funds and private equity groups.

Marcin is listed as a recommended lawyer in Real Estate by Chambers Europe and Legal 500.
"Widely regarded as a promising talent in the real estate sector, Marcin Muszel often handles acquisitions and disposals of commercial, industrial and office buildings. He is proactive and gives efficient and clear advice say clients." (Chambers 2012 issue).

Hugues Moreau, Partner of Gide’s Warsaw office commented on Marcin's arrivals in the following way: "We are very happy to welcome such an experienced and open-minded professional in our office. We will offer even more comprehensive advice at the highest level of quality, at every stage of real estate projects, for commercial, office, residential or logistics purposes, covering acquisitions, zoning, construction process and financing, as well as the marketing and sale of real estate. I am sure that this addition will enable us to reinforce the position of Gide in the real estate sector."- "I believe that the merger of our expertise will result in many interesting synergy opportunities and will provide real added value to our real estate clients. Combining my knowledge and experience with Gide's fits perfectly with the firm’s existing client base." - added Marcin Muszel.

"Real estate and construction law is globally one of Gide Loyrette Nouel’s key areas of specialisation. The Paris Office employs more than 40 real estate lawyers including 8 partners. The practice has been ranked as Tier 1 by Chambers Europe for the last 13 years. We consider the Polish real estate market to be very promising, both in the short and long term. This is one of the reasons I relocated from the Paris office to Warsaw in 2011. Marcin's arrival is the next step towards further strengthening of our Polish practice." - explained Hugues Moreau.

Last year was very satisfactory to the Warsaw Real Estate practice of Gide, not only due to the reinforcement of the team, but also on the transactions side. For instance, the group advised Auchan on the acquisition of Real's 109 hypermarkets in Central and Eastern Europe from Metro, which was one of the most significant M&A projects in Europe last year. They also assisted Unibail-Rodamco on the exit of ING RED from the Złote Tarasy investment (the disposal of 77% of shares in the holding entity). The Zloty Tarasy complex in Warsaw includes a shopping centre of 66,200 sq. m., two office buildings (Lumen Tower and Skylight Tower - 47,300 sq. m.) and 1600 parking spaces.
