The first stage of the expansion of the Ogrody shopping center in the northern city of Elbląg, Warmia and Mazuria province, will begin Feb. 1 and will be completed by the end of April. The general contractor is the PORR Polska company. The investor is CBRE Global Investors. The center will remain open to clients. After expansion its space will exceed 40,000 sq m and will be over two times larger than it is now.

More than 50% of space in the center has been leased out. Among the tenants in the expanded center will be Carrefour, LPP, New Yorker, RTV Euro AGD, Deichmann, Rossmann, Orsay, a multiplex cinema, restaurants and cafes. More than 130 stores and retail outlets, 75 more than there are now, will be located on two stories in the expanded center. The existing parking lot will be converted into a three-level parking garage for around 1,000 vehicles.

The real estate services company Acteeum Central Europe is responsible for the expansion of the center and leasing it out to tenants. The ESA architectural practice has designed the center.
