A classic nativity play with a contemporary feel is being staged at the Stanisławowski Theater at the Royal Łazienki Museum. The play was written by Katarzyna Lengren and goes by the name of Heavenly Guardian, or Angelic Carols, Paradisal Talk and Wishes to Fulfill.

Directed by scriptwriter and music show director Jacek Bończyk, the play combines witty dialogue, costumes and sets meticulously selected and designed by Lengren herself with inventive arrangements of familiar Christmas carols.

The actors include Anna Sroka-Hryń, Klementyna Umer, Tomasz Bednarek (pictured) and Arkadiusz Brykalski. The music director is Fabian Włodarek, who has worked with some of Poland’s best known singers, including Maryla Rodowicz, Edyta Geppert, Justyna Steczkowska and Magda Umer.

Upcoming performances:
Jan. 27, 4 p.m.; Jan. 29, 7 p.m.; Feb. 9, 1 p.m.;
Feb. 10, 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
Tickets priced zl.70-150 are available at www.ebilet.pl,
