Loud Jazz Band to promote new album at TR Warszawa
September 20, 2013
The Loud Jazz Band, a Polish-Norwegian group, will play tracks from their latest album at the TR Warszawa theater in Warsaw Oct. 7, the day the album is officially released.
Entitled From the Distance. Live in Oslo, the new album is the band’s eighth.
The Loud Jazz Band was founded in Poland in 1989 by Mirosław “Carlos” Kaczmarczyk, who writes most of the band’s songs. In 1994, Kaczmarczyk emigrated to Norway, where he re-launched his group.
The current lineup are five musicians from Poland, three from Norway, and one from Bulgaria. This year in Norway, Kaczmarczyk received an award for achievements in music.
The band’s biggest success came in 1994 with the 4 Ever 2 U album, released on the prestigious Mercury Records label (Def Leppard, Elton John, Mark Knopfler) in Britain and nominated for the Polish recording industry’s Fryderyki awards in the “jazz” category.
Kaczmarczyk’s music blends several different styles, giving them an acoustic arrangement. The Loud Jazz Band play classic jazz, free jazz, and impromptu music.
The material for From the Distance. Live in Oslo was recorded May 2, 2012, during the band’s concert at the Fifth Polish Culture Days in Oslo. The new live album sums up The Loud Jazz Band’s career so far.
From the Distance. Live in Oslo will be out Oct. 7 at Empik stores and will also be available for download from iTunes and Amazon.com. It is being released by Anaconda Productions and LJB Music Records.
