Poland's rate council may hold rates well into 2014 - rate setter
September 24, 2013
Poland's Monetary Policy Council could keep interest rates flat well into 2014 as a light economic recovery seems stable but without threat of closing the output gap and pushing on prices, council member Jerzy Hausner said on Monday.
"The expectation that the current level of interest rates will also hold throughout a certain portion of 2014 is reasonable,” Hausner told PAP Polish news agency. “What portion that will be will depend on the strength of the economic recovery.”
That economy is clearly in light recovery, Hausner says, but growth rates are not about to overwhelm.
