Poland’s unemployment down to 13pct in August

Polish registered unemployment rate decreased to 13.0% in August from 13.1% in July, Central Statistical Office (GUS) said Tuesday.
The number of registered jobless at end-August measured 2.843 million. In August, 203,600 persons registered as unemployed, down by 32,700 from July level, while 213,300 came off the rolls, down from 252,300 in July.
In July, employers filed 77,200 job offers with job offices, down from 77,700 in July. At end-August, job offices had 52,600 available job offers.
Polish labor offices received notifications from 367 employers declaring layoffs of 32,200 workers, GUS added.
