Exploring the Depth of Infinity
March 27, 2013
Article's tools:

Paintings by acclaimed avant-garde Polish painter Stefan Gierowski are on display in the Opera Gallery at the Wielki Theater/National Opera.

Often referred to as a contemporary classic, Gierowski pays a great deal of attention to texture, color and light in his paintings. The pictures in the exhibition, produced between 2007 and 2011, look fresh, with a sophisticated structure and daring color compositions. The exhibition comes with a catalogue in which Gierowski writes that the paintings “show that it is possible to notice different distances between colorful points and spots and aspire to reveal the depth of infinity concealed in the substance of the colors. There is hope that the saturation and luminosity of colors can produce beauty.”

Until April 15; Opera Gallery, North Rooms of the Wielki Theater-National Opera
1 Teatralny Sq.; Open Tue.-Sat. 10 a.m.-5 p.m., free admission
