Tribute to Pink Floyd

A Polish tribute band called Another Pink Floyd is going on tour to mark 40 years since the release of the groundbreaking Dark Side of the Moon, one of the most influential albums of all time.

Pink Floyd are legends who continue to inspire other music acts and numerous tribute bands. Covering Pink Floyd tracks is a risky business, as the group’s fans are hard to please. In order to even try to recreate the ambiance of a Pink Floyd concert, you need to have a high level of musicianship and feel the music with your heart and soul.

In Poland, all of this fell into place in 2009 when several diehard Pink Floyd fans got together in the town of Skawina, near Cracow. They formed Another Pink Floyd, the first and for some time the only Pink Floyd tribute band in Poland.

Another Pink Floyd play most of their concerts at clubs and so for technical reasons their shows don’t have the gigantic television screens, 3D imagery and huge walls collapsing onto the stage seen at “real” Pink Floyd gigs.

The confines of a club, on the other hand, give a special, private feel to Another Pink Floyd concerts.

The Polish tribute band feels perfectly at home with Pink Floyd staples. Their meticulous instrumental and vocal arrangements, nuanced sound and faithful renditions of guitar solos keep winning the band new fans. During their club tour this April, Another Pink Floyd will play all of Dark Side of the Moon, along with tracks from The Wall, Wish You Were Here and Pink Floyd’s last studio album, Division Bell.

Tour dates: April 16—Cracow, Rotunda Club
April 21—Radom, Strefa G2 Club
April 26—Rzeszów, Pod Palm± Club
All concerts start at 8 p.m.

Tickets available at Ticketpro.pl and at the venues
