Polish manufacturing sector continues to recover in September
October 2, 2013
Poland's purchasing managers' index PMI moved up to 53.1 points in September, the highest level since April 2011, from 52.6 pts in August, the third straight month above the key 50-point threshold, the survey of 300 industrial companies, prepared by Markit Economics for HSBC showed.
"A further solid increase in new orders continued to drive output growth in the Polish manufacturing sector in September," the report read.
"The rate of expansion in production remained historically strong, and firms expanded workforces at the fastest rate in over six years as a result," it added.
Purchases also increased, but prices of own products continued to be cut, the report noted.
