PGE signs deal with Siemens on power block construction
October 4, 2013
Power utility PGE signed a net PLN 562 million deal with Siemens on building a 138 MWe and 90 MWt block at the Gorzow power & heat plant in western Poland, PGE said in a market filing.
The block will be built by Siemens within 28 months from granting the deal.
The block will replace existing coal-fired blocks as the main block for electricity and heat generation for the city of Gorzow, PGE said.
Profitability of the block was secured by a separate deal with PGNiG, which envisages natural gas supplies from a local source at a price below the tariff.
