Sharper, Wider, Brighter
The new XPS 13 ultrabook from Dell is fitted with a Full HD display with a resolution of 1080p to ensure a larger display area, a sharper picture and more vivid colors. The frameless screen can reproduce 72 percent of the visible color range, while ordinary displays only manage 45 percent. The new ultrabook’s Full HD screen also boasts wider viewing angle of 178 degrees compared to 80 in ordinary laptops. That way, seen from the side, the image is as clear as when viewed from the front. Finally, the image produced is 75 percent brighter than on ordinary displays.

The Dell XPS 13 is elegant, thin and light, offering an illuminated keyboard, a soft wrist pad and high-end speakers. Equipped with third-generation i5 or i7 processors and integrated HD 4000 graphics, the ultrabook guarantees top performance.

Inspired by Speed
Tissot has unveiled a new collection of Tissot T-Race MotoGP 2013 watches, with two limited editions available. The first edition of just 3,333 timepieces is fitted with a mechanical movement. The 8,888 watches in the other edition come with a quartz mechanism. Both models have been given a sporty look, sturdy casing and several stylistic touches imitating the look of motorcycle parts, from small stopwatch dials resembling speedometers to a layer of carbon fiber on the watch’s surface. The limited editions also introduce a new touch of blue.

The limited-edition watches will be sold in unique packaging shaped to look like a motorcycle helmet.

Mercedes Teams Up With Renault

Mercedes is launching a new compact station wagon/van called the Citan, designed jointly with French car maker Renault. Since the car is based on the second-generation Renault Kangoo, the striking resemblance between the bodies of the two models is not a coincidence. The Citan, however, has a different front and a redesigned dashboard.

The new car comes in three body versions, including a five-seat station wagon, a five-seat station wagon with a windowless cargo area and a two-seat van with a dividing wall and windowless rear. The Citan we test-drove was fitted with an economical turbocharged 1.5-liter, 110-hp diesel engine which averaged a mere 4.6 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers. The vehicle has a huge cargo area with a capacity of 685 liters, which can be further enlarged to 3,000 liters when the rear seats are folded.

With its compact size and versatility, the Citan’s natural niche is the delivery and passenger vehicle segment that is marketed primarily to fleet customers.
