Poland's budget deficit above PLN 29bn at end-Sept - minister
October 9, 2013
The Polish government has run up a budget deficit of slightly above PLN 29 billion at the end of September as compared to PLN 26.8 billion at end-August, deputy Finance Minister Hanna Majszczyk told reporters.
"We preliminarily estimate that the nominal deficit after September is at a level of slightly above PLN 29 billion," Majszczyk said.
"As far as tax revenues are concerned, in September they are more or less at the level expected by us and VAT does not diverge from plan," she added. "Of course, in September we did not record such a growth on the tax side as in June and July."
Following the 2013 budget amendment, Poland eyes FY deficit of PLN 51.57 billion.
