Reading Doesn’t Hurt

The Big Book Festival, a new event that aims to use cultural and artistic activities and new technology to inspire people to read more, will be held in Warsaw June 22-23.

The festival will comprise over 50 free literary and artistic events in different parts of the capital and online. It will include face-to-face and online meetings with Polish and foreign writers, literature-related projects for audiences coordinated by renowned authors, art-related projects and a night reading marathon with public figures in attendance.

There will also be low-key meetings with talented writers, collective reading sessions in unusual places and exhibitions.

The idea for the festival came from the “Kultura nie boli” (Culture Doesn’t Hurt) foundation, established to support cultural activities and education.
