Nature’s Endangered Wonders
April 25, 2013
Article's tools:

A new multimedia exhibition about the Earth and its endangered natural wonders has opened on the 30th floor of the Palace of Culture and Science.

After billions of years of natural evolution, the global ecosystem is rapidly breaking down because of humans and their degradation of the environment.

The Stołeczna Estrada company has organized the exhibition in the hope of drawing public and media attention to the next United Nations Climate Change Conference, which will be held in Warsaw Nov. 19.

While the exhibition is universal and aimed at a broad audience, the organizers are particularly looking forward to working closely with schools, says Stołeczna Estrada chief Andrzej Matusiak. “We need to educate the youngest generation, otherwise they could soon be deprived of the amazing wonders of nature,” Matusiak adds.

Visitors to the exhibition are made aware of human activities which have had a devastating effect on the environment.

The exhibition can be viewed in Polish and English. Employing state-of-the-art technology such as touchscreens and animated graphics, the exhibition guides visitors through different historical aspects of industry and the geographical and social background to changes that have been taking place around the world.

Until Dec. 10
Entry to the exhibition and the Palace of Culture observation deck costs zl.18 (regular price), zl.12 (concession) and zl.10 (groups). Tickets are available at the building’s main lobby.
