Poland's August C/A deficit high above forecast – central bank

The Polish government run a current account deficit of EUR 719 million in August versus a EUR 209.8 million deficit expected and versus the July revised deficit of EUR 497 million, according to central bank NBP figures released Friday.
The gov’t recorded a trade surplus of EUR 264 million in August.
Exports of goods increased by 2.1% year on year to EUR 12.451 billion. The consensus forecast put export increase at 3.1%.
Imports decreased by 0.7% year on year to EUR 12.187 billion. The analysts surveyed by PAP Polish news agency expected August imports to decline by 0.3%.
A surplus on services of EUR 515 million was recorded, a negative balance on income of EUR 1.738 billion and a positive balance of current transfers at EUR 240 million.
