October 17, 2013
French energy group GdF Suez is taking over heating assets of the Swedish unit of German power group E.ON in Poland, the daily Puls Biznesu reported adding that the French concern has already filed a motion to the anti-monopoly body UOKIK for a permission to purchase heating plant Sydkraft EC Slupsk in northern Poland.
Apart from the Slupsk unit, GdF's targets plants in five Polish towns. GdF headquarters in Paris do not comment on the transaction, but the transaction is said to be in line with the group's strategy of focusing on heating projects.
Swedish E.ON's PR director Roger Strandahl said that the talks on the sale of the Polish assets to GdF Suez are in progress.
