The 290-meter Costa Pacifica was the first passenger cruise liner to call at the Polish port of Gdynia this season. The vessel’s arrival May 3 kicked off a season that promises to be just about as busy as last year, when a total of 69 cruise ships visited the port of Gdynia, and the city played host to over 200,000 tourists and crew members. As usual, this year’s tourist season will last until late fall. During that time, cruise liners will call at the port of Gdynia 60 times.

The AIDAbella ship, under an Italian flag, will be the most frequent visitor at Gdynia, with 10 calls. With a length of 250 meters and gross tonnage of 69,200 GT, the ship can accommodate more than 2,000 passengers and 600 crew members.

The Costa Pacifica will call at Gdynia five more times. The longest vessel to dock at the port this year will be the 295-meter Italian MSC Poesia. Built in 2008, the ship has room for 2,550 passengers and 987 crew on its 13 decks.

The best day to stop by the Port of Gdynia in order to see cruise ships is July 25, when three vessels will be berthed there: the 205-meter Voyager, the 285-meter Arcadia and the 130-meter Ocean Majesty.
