Enea to spend PLN 20bn on 2014-2020 investment program

Power group Enea intends to spend PLN 20 billion on its 2014-2020 investment program, including PLN 11.8 billion outlays in generation & distribution and PLN 7.7 billion in renewable energy, heat-and-power cogeneration and heat grid, the firm said in a market filing on corporate strategy approved by the supervisory board on Friday.
The sum does not include financing costs, Enea said.
The planned investment outlays will be partially financed with the company's own means and partially with debt, the filing showed.
In profitable areas, Enea intends to increase its generation capacity by 1,075 MWe in systemic power plants in 2017 as well as by some 500 MWe in renewable energy and by some 300 MWe & 1,500 MWt in cogeneration and heat lines in 2020, the firm said.
In distribution, the firm will implement a program of grid reliability improvement and failure frequency reduction, develop intelligent networks and improve the customer service quality, as well as take actions directed at decreasing the volume of electricity needed for coverage of losses in the energy balance.
