Book of Job reinterpreted at Narodowy Theater

“The first is Silence About Job” (Milczenie o Hiobie), directed by Piotr Cieplak and based on the Book of Job, as translated by Polish poet Czesław Miłosz, the winner of a Nobel prize for literature will have its premiere Oct. 24 on the main stage of the Narodowy Theater in Warsaw.
With this staging Cieplak invites the audience for common contemplation of the biblical text. His interpretation of the Job’s story is more than just a story of suffering, it’s a lesson of life which encourages silent meditation.
The performance features live music by a Kormorany band.
Cast includes: Monika Dryl, Wiktoria Gorodeckaja, Dominika Kluźniak, Cezary Kosiński, Jerzy Łapiński, Karol Pocheć,
Tomasz Sapryk and Zbigniew Zamachowski.
