Summer with Music in P這ck

Tens of thousands of music fans are expected to flock to the central city of P這ck in July for several music festivals that are held annually on the local beach on the Vistula river.

In early July, top performers of Christian music will come to P這ck for the Youth Festival—Polish Copacabana (Festiwal M這dych - Polska Copacabana). One of the event’s highlights will be a performance by Polish band Luxtorpeda. Another highlight will be a concert by the Raz Dwa Trzy (One Two Three) group, accompanied by the P這ck Symphony Orchestra conducted by Witold Lutos豉wski. Other performers will include TGD, a Polish gospel choir conducted by Piotr Nazaruk.

In mid-July, P這ck will host the Reggaeland reggae music festival, the most important event of its kind in Poland. The event will feature a long list of top reggae performers from around the world, including Shaggy, a Jamaican-American pop singer and rapper known for hits such as “Boombastic” and “It Wasn’t Me.” Other international performers will include Ken Boothe, Jahcoustix (pictured), Richie Stephens, Mesajah and Dr. Ring-Ding. Also on hand will be a host of Polish musicians.

The festival aims to promote reggae and related music genres such as dub, dancehall, jungle and raga.

In late July, the Audioriver electronic music festival will be held in P這ck. Organized since 2006, it draws about 15,000 fans every year. This year, performers will include Icelandic band GusGus, French electronic musician Mr. Oizo, and German musician Paul Kalkbrenner, whose 2011 concert on P這ck beach attracted the largest audience in the history of the event. Online electronic music magazine Resident Advisor regularly ranks Audioriver among the top 10 electronic music festivals worldwide.
