Polish parties for longer election poll ban, shorter campaign silence
November 4, 2013
The junior coalition Polish People's Party (PSL) and leftwing opposition Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) want to extend a pre-election poll publication ban to seven days and shorten the current campaign silence period.
Both parties have prepared bills in the matter. The PSL act is in the Sejm lower house, SLD plans to file its bill this week.
Current election laws ban the publication of election poll figures on the eve of elections and on election days.
