Luxury Seaside Resort on the Cards

A 500-million-euro luxury vacation resort with hotels, a marina and sports and recreation centers will be developed near the Polish seaside town of Mielno, West Pomerania province, in what promises to be the biggest project ever undertaken on the Baltic coast.

Called Beach City, the resort will be built on a strip of land separating the Baltic Sea from Lake Jamno. The investor behind the project, Mielno Holding - Firmus Group, says the project is in the final planning stage. Construction is due to begin in 2014.

Once completed, the resort will be 36 hectares in size with access to the beach. It will be composed of a five-star hotel with a conference center, boutique and condo hotels, apartment buildings, shopping and recreation centers, and a marina.

Mielno Holding – Firmus Group is a Norwegian-owned group of companies operating on the real estate market as a developer and investor. Since 2000 the group has bought more than 400,000 sq m of land next to the beach in Mielno and provided it with utilities. The estimated value of the property exceeds 1 billion euros. The land is one of the largest private properties on the Polish coastline.

Firmus Group has already constructed several luxury apartment buildings in Mielno, including the Dune building—the largest apartment building on this stretch of the Baltic coast and one of the largest projects carried out by the developer.

The Dune building, which is located by the coastal promenade and overlooks the beach, took 107 weeks to construct and cost zl.52 million. Completed in June, the seven-story building is 10,500 sq m in size and offers 109 apartments with six penthouses on the top story. Almost 90 percent of the apartments have already been sold. Two more buildings will be constructed nearby in the future.
