Posters by French visual artist Alain Le Quernec are on display at the Open-Air Gallery of the Royal Łazienki Museum in an exhibition that is part of the French Cultural Poster series.

Le Quernec likes to challenge the principles of traditional design. The French poster designer is inspired by the so-called Polish School of Poster Art and has mastered a visual synthesis technique typical of the Polish style. He also makes a liberal use of a variety of other visual techniques.

Most of the posters on display were commissioned from Le Quernec by different cultural institutions to advertise theatrical and ballet performances, opera productions, concerts and museum exhibitions. Some, such as those Le Quernec produced for France’s Le Monde newspaper, also take on social and political topics.
