Celebrating Schaeffer’s Art

The fifth edition of Schaeffer’s Festival – a tribute to the art of Poland’s most prolific avant-garde composer, playwright, graphic designer and philosopher Bogusław Schaeffer will take place on November 20-21 in Warsaw.
As the festival's goal is to present the musical and theatrical output of the artist the highlight of the festival will be an interactive, multimedia show Era Schaeffera, drawing from Schaeffer’s works and directed by Maciej Sobociński, which will include many improvised elements.
The performace will be shown at Centralny Basen Artystyczny venue on Nov. 21 at 7pm.
The cast will include actors: Marek Frąckowiak, Waldemar Obłoza, Jamal Souissi (from Morocco), Agnieszka Grzybowska, Lidia Bogacz-Popiel, Valentina Pennino and Agnieszka Wielgosz.
The performance will also feature a musician from India Ghatam Giridhar Udupa and a number of Polish musicians - L.U.C (Łukasz Rostkowski), Jorgos Skolias, Michał Urbaniak, Marcin Wyrostek with Tango Corazon band, Sławomir Zubrzycki on piano.and Amadeus Polish National Radio Orchestra conducted by Agnieszka Duczmal.
As this year’s event coincides with the 65th anniversary of Schaeffer’s creative work it will feature additional attractions an exhibition of Schaeffer’s graphic works shown at the headquarters of the Polish lower house Sejm on Nov. 20 as well as screening of a film with Schaeffer’s music played live by Michal Urbaniak at the Iluzjon cinema on Nov. 20 at 8 pm.
