Polish PM Donald Tusk
The European Union should leave "an open door" for Ukraine, Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk said on Tuesday, attending a meeting of Central and East European and Chinese government heads in Bucharest, Romania.

It is unlikely that an association agreement between the EU and Ukraine be signed during the Vilnius summit of EU Eastern Partnership, Tusk said, but added that "it is important that the matter be continued during the EU summit in Vilnius in Vilnius."

Tusk also said that Polish and European projects concerning Ukraine "cannot come to a stop" even if the agreement is not signed should "not mean we must surrender."
