The Hilton Warsaw Hotel and Convention Centre has been named Poland’s leading business hotel in the European final of the renowned World Travel Awards 2013, after a vote by travel agents worldwide. The World Travel Awards (WTAs) were established in 1993 in London to acknowledge top performers across all sectors of the tourism industry.

At the WTA Europe Gala Ceremony in Antalya, Turkey, in August, the Hilton Warsaw Hotel and Convention Centre was one of 20 Hilton Worldwide properties in Europe singled out for praise. The Hilton Warsaw is one of the city’s most modern hotels. It has distinctive contemporary styling and is centrally located. Incorporating the largest convention space in the heart of Warsaw, it can host events for over 2,000 guests.

Erwin Verhoog, general manager of the Hilton Warsaw, said the Polish capital is a good destination for international and national meetings and conferences. Verhoog said that being named Poland’s leading business hotel is a tribute to the Hilton Warsaw team, which has worked hard over recent years to exceed customers’ expectations.

Simon Vincent, president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Hilton Worldwide, said he was delighted to see so many Hilton hotels praised in the international awards, including one for the fifth year in a row.

Hilton hotels that won awards include those in Germany, Italy, Portugal, Austria, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Italy, Ireland, Turkey, Cyprus and Hungary. Vincent said that this highlights the consistent level of service across Hilton’s brands and the company’s position on the European market, where the company now has more than 250 hotels in 30 countries. With a 94 year-old tradition, Hilton Worldwide is a leading global hospitality company, with facilities ranging from luxurious full-service hotels and resorts to extended-stay suites and mid-priced hotels.

The prestigious World Travel Awards have been highlighting organizations delivering outstanding quality for customers in travel and tourism for 20 years. They have become a key global institution of the industry, stimulating competition and innovation among operators, as well as providing a testimonial of quality for travelers worldwide. More than 5,000 travel organizations are nominated for the awards each year. Called by some the Oscars of the travel industry, each year the WTAs see regional gala ceremonies held across the world to celebrate individual and collective successes. This year the Grand Final Awards will be held Nov. 30 in Doha, Qatar.
