September saw the 90th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Poland and Peru. It is also 10 years since the Royal Castle in Warsaw hosted its first concert. These two landmarks were celebrated Sept. 15 with a concert by talented 19-year-old Peruvian pianist Priscilla Navarro.

Navarro is a piano student at Gulf Coast University in Florida, the United States, and receives a scholarship from famous piano producer Steinway. Despite her young age, Navarro has already won many international prizes. In 2011 she won the South American International Chopin Competition in Lima, Peru, and a year later the Chopin Competition in Texas in the United States. As a prize, she debuted at the world-famous Carnegie Hall on March 7, 2013.

In Warsaw, Navarro performed compositions by Bach, Beethoven, Liszt, Schubert, Chopin and Gershwin, as well as by selected Peruvian composers. Due to her love of Chopin she is planning to continue her postgraduate studies at the Chopin University of Music in Warsaw.
