Metal Mixed With Medieval

German folk metal band In Extremo will play material from their new album, Kunstraub, at the Progresja music club in Warsaw this October. Regarded as one of the world’s best groups in their genre, In Extremo have so far sold an estimated one million records and toured the world, including Europe, the United States, Mexico, Argentina, Chile and China. They have also written the soundtrack to the first and second parts of the Gothic video game.

Formed in 1995 in Berlin, In Extremo play a unique kind of music where traditional metal riffs blend with medieval and folk music. They combine contemporary instruments with historical ones such as medieval bagpipes, the hurdy-gurdy and the harp, which give a special flavor to the music and allow the band to revisit an almost forgotten soundscape. The music is coupled with life-affirming lyrics.

This will be In Extremo’s third time in Poland after the Płock Cover Festival in 2010 and Metalfest in 2012.
