New law to broaden powers of Poland’s internal security agency
December 11, 2013
The Polish government is working on a bill significantly increasing powers of internal security agency ABW with some of the provisions already raising controversies, Dziennik Gazeta Prawna daily reports.
ABW will now be supervised by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and not directly to the Prime Minister as was the case so far.
The bill is now in inter-ministerial consultations and critical opinions about particular provisions already came from anti-corruption office CBA, the Supreme Court and Prosecutor's General office.
