Warsaw’s Kamienica Theater has kicked off its new season with several premieres. The first of them, 4 tony podłogi (4 Tons of Floor), is a satirical monologue written by Doman Nowakowski and directed by Olimpia Poniźnik-Burczyk. This one-man show is performed by Paweł Burczyk, who plays a hopeful newcomer to Warsaw. Aspiring to succeed in the big city, he carves out a career that brings him a small fortune and a job whose description won’t even fit on his business card. But with success come loans that have to be paid...

This season’s premieres at the Kamienica Theater also include My Wife’s Husband, a play written by Miro Gavran and directed by Tomasz Obara, who stars in the play opposite Przemysław Bluszcz. The actors play two men who discover they are married to the same woman.

The next premiere is Norm Foster’s Old Love directed by Krzysztof Kelm. Spanning more than two decades, the play tells the story of an affection that develops over the years between the two main characters.

Finally, Kamienica will stage a play entitled We, Children from Bahnhof Zoo and based on a nonfiction book by Kai Hermann and Horst Rieck about a teenage drug addict.

Kamienica Theater director Emilian Kamiński says the new play aims to warn young people against taking drugs. “We want this play to be seen by kids from middle schools and high schools and hit them really hard,” said Kamiński.
