Slawomir Brodzinski appointed new chief geologist

Poland's Prime Minister Donald Tusk appointed head of civil service Slawomir Brodzinski as new deputy Environment Minister and the country's chief geologist, a replacement for dismissed Piotr Wozniak.
The appointment will speed up works on the draft bill on shale gas exploration and extraction, Environment Minister Maciej Grabowski said.
Along with Wozniak, PM Tusk also dismissed two other deputy Environment Ministers: Aneta Wilmanska and Beata Jaczewska, Grabowski said.
The Ministry would like to organize another in a series of meetings with the shale gas industry at the beginning of January 2014, Grabowski also said.
