The Polish government will spend some PLN 8.2 billion on army modernization in 2014, but will likely fail to launch its strategic programs such as anti-missile and anti-aircraft programs or the tender for new helicopters, which was supposed to be concluded in Q1 2014 and attracted big players such as AugustaWestland, Sikorsky and Eurocopter.

Poland will spend only PLN 140 million on new helicopters next year, the daily Gazeta Wyborcza reports.
