Date With Dianne Reeves
November 28, 2013
Article's tools:

Four-time Grammy Award winner Dianne Reeves is coming to Poland to promote her latest album in a one-night-only concert at Warsaw’s Wielki Theater Dec. 14.

The only female vocalist to have won Grammies for three consecutive albums, Reeves is mentioned in the same breath as jazz divas such as Dianna Krall, Cassandra Wilson and Dee Dee Bridgewater. Gifted with a phenomenal feeling for music and rhythm, Reeves touches audiences with mood ballads, while her interpretations of “Loving You,” “Summertime” and other hit songs have won her fans outside jazz circles. So far, she has recorded 18 albums and given concerts at the world’s most prestigious venues. She has performed with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin Philharmonic and Wynton Marsalis’ Linton Center Jazz Orchestra. She was also featured on the soundtrack of the Oscar-nominated Good Night, and Good Luck movie from 2005 and was one of the performers at the closing ceremonies of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games in Salt Lake City.

Reeves is a rare visitor to Poland and tickets to her concerts sell out fast. Her Warsaw gig has been organized by the BMW Jazz Club, which specializes in concerts featuring the best Polish and international jazz performers. Reeves will sing her greatest hits and new tracks from Beautiful Life, her latest album, released in November. She will be accompanied by pianist Peter Martin, drummer Terreon Gully, bassist Reginald Veal, and Brazilian guitar virtuoso Romero Lubambo.
