Poland: A Finance and Accounting Hub

Over a dozen finance and accounting centers have been established in Poland over the past several years.

In terms of human capital, Poland has a lot to offer to multinational corporations to encourage them to open their shared service centers here. As far as demographics are concerned, Poland offers superb potential with almost 39 million consumers, including 5.7 million with university degrees. Many of these people are actively looking for a job, which is a perfect market environment for accounting centers. Corporations gain access to qualified employees, while young people get to learn the best financial and accounting practices. This market has been growing rapidly for several years and is entering a new phase where, after simple accounting services, the centers are starting to provide comprehensive financial and management accounting services. As a recruitment company, we can clearly see that happening.

As for skills, the demand is growing at several levels. The most sought-after employees are managers of financial centers and students and graduates of finance-related majors fluent in foreign languages.

Companies are also keen to hire Poles as regional managers for Central Europe. They are appointed as managers in charge of accounting and financial management in the region. Poles are competent and, more importantly, they are open-minded and enthusiastic, committed, ambitious and responsible.

Another huge strength of Poland is that it is part of the EU. We believe Poland has all it takes to become a European financial and accounting hub. This is an opportunity for Poland and legislators and employers should be aware of it.
