Rafał Kuczyński, general manager of the Holiday Inn Warszawa Józefów hotel near Warsaw, talks to Ewa Hancock.
What is your hotel most famous for?
The Holiday Inn Warszawa Józefów is well known for its large recreational area. We offer many outdoor activities, mainly available in summer, and they include a golf and miniature-golf course, tennis courts, a rope course, a swimming pool, hot tubs, and a luxurious spa. The hotel also has 11 conference rooms with state-of-the-art facilities. We have high standards, as demonstrated by the awards that the hotel wins every year and the comments of the guests who come to stay with us again.
What kind of attractions do you have in winter ?
In winter, the hotel has plenty of activities to make sure that both individual guests and groups have a great time. The hotel is located in a forest by a river, allowing our staff to organize spectacular sleigh rides. Quad rides, in turn, provide an adrenaline rush and are particularly popular with visiting groups in winter. Many guests like our rope course, because in winter, even one of the easiest sets of ropes can be challenging, if not a extreme sport adventure. As for avid golfers, they can stay in form and practice during the winter months inside our heated driving range at Golf Park Józefów. This year, we have also opened an indoor tennis hall. And, of course, throughout the year our guests are welcome to check out our swimming pool with saunas and hot tubs, a gym, and the La Perla Spa Clinic.
January at the hotel is a time of Christmas parties thrown by different companies as they sum up the year and set goals for the next 12 months. This is also what’s known in Poland as the carnival season and at this time of year we offer special corporate events including Brazilian dance presentations and classes, classes in African dances and performances by the Mulemba ensemble, which Polish audiences know from television talent shows.
What are your plans for 2014?
The Holiday Inn Warszawa Józefów is well known for its high standards and its trademark is the wide range of recreational activities available, coupled with its highly attractive location by a river, just four kilometers from the Warsaw city limits, on the edge of a scenic park. We want to keep it that way and this is what we are going to focus on. Apart from this, our plans include more flexible services for individual guests. Our packages for such guests will be expanded to include tourism services, because the hotel is close enough to Warsaw to serve as the starting point for sightseeing tours.
The Holiday Inn Warszawa Józefów is part of the world’s largest international hotel chain, the InterContinental Hotels Group. It is one of five Holiday Inn hotels in Poland, the other four being the Holiday Inn Bydgoszcz, the Holiday Inn Łódź, the Holiday Inn Kraków City Center, and the Holiday Inn Express Warsaw Airport.
