Poland eyes PLN 3.7bn revenues from privatization this year
January 9, 2014
The Polish government expects PLN 1.2 billion in receipts from direct privatization and another PLN 2.5 billion from stock market transactions in 2014, deputy Treasury Minister Pawel Tamborski told journalists.
"Revenues from privatization this year are planned at the level of PLN 3.7 billion, of which PLN 1.2 billion will come from direct privatization and the remaining amount from stock market transactions," Tamborski said.
Carrying out minor direct transactions poses bigger problem at present, which is why the final amount of receipts to the budget from this source may change, the minister added.
The government "plans rather no IPOs" in 2014, Tamborski also said.
The Polish government raised PLN 4.4 billion in privatization receipts as of end-December 2013.
