An award winning play of “Jackson Pollesch”, directed by René Pollesch, one of the leading creators of the European avant-garde theater returns to the stage of TR Warszawa just for three days – Jan 10, 11 and 12.

Pollesch is considered to be one of the best post-drama theater directors. He has given up on the conventional theater where actors create their parts by revealing all shades of their psychological motivations. His performances are straightforward political manifestos where the director, who’s also the author of the scripts, precisely analyzes socio-political and economic mechanisms which determine the condition of contemporary people. Onstage Pollesch does not shy away from following the theses of contemporary philosophers who question the current social order such as Jean Baudrillard or Giorgio Agamben. His theatre goes perfectly well with the simulacra theory or preaching of the need to defile the idols of the manipulated consumer society.

Pollesch’s performances impress with the amount of plots, problems discussed or references. The essence of his work is the confrontation on all possible fields and, in this sense, his theater is revolutionary. Pollesch draws inspiration equally from pop culture and high art. His texts are composed of quotations from social theories, economic analyses, criticism of capitalism, theory of gender, theory of communication, autobiographical notes, street plays and popular films.
