Fuel group PKN Orlen's E&E unit Orlen Upstream concluded the drilling of Stoczek-OU1 vertical well and plans further works on location, saying its interest in the Podlaski basin is "justified," PKN Orlen said in a press statement.
"After conducting the Stoczek-OU1 well we can state that our interest in hydrocarbon deposits in the Podlaski Basin is justified," Orlen Upstream CEO Wieslaw Prugar said
"The parameters and initial conclusions allow us to plan further works at this location."
Orlen plans to conduct horizontal drillings and hydraulic fracturing at the site in the future, the statement showed.
The Stoczek well, which reached the depth of 3,140 meters, is PKN Orlen's ninth unconventional hydrocarbons exploration well, the firm said. It is located at the 'Wodynie-Lukow' license, located at the border of Lubelskie and Mazowieckie regions in eastern Poland.
