February 12, 2014
Top international designers will share what inspires them at a Warsaw conference entitled Power to Designers, an event that will explore the challenges and opportunities of working in an era of fast-changing technology.
The conference, which takes place March 11 and 12, will include lectures on trends in various areas of design, and on the future of mobile applications and social media. Participants will be able to find out what industrial design will look like in the future and what trends can be seen in infographics.
Topics tackled at the conference will include:
-What micro-trends and innovations will soon change our lives;
-Whether smartphones are the future of media and communications;
-What the internet can learn from the printed press;
-Which way industrial design will go;
-How social media will change the media in the near future;
-Where the limits of editorial design are.
The conference will be divided into five sections entitled Print, Screen, Trends, Social Media, and Innovation.
Speakers will include Javier Errea, described by the conference organizers as a legend of international press design. Errea has worked for newspapers on several continents, including France's Liberation and Britain's The Independent.
Another speaker will be Franchesco Franchi, a newspaper, magazine and infographics designer and the author of a book called Designing News.
Also speaking at the conference will be Mark Little, a former television news anchor and foreign correspondent who set up Storyful, which he describes as the first news agency for the social media age.
