Poland's December wage rises by 2.7pct y/y

Poland's average corporate gross wage measured PLN 4.222 in December, as it rose by 2.7% year on year and by 8.3% month on month, the Central Statistics Office (GUS) said.

Wages counting out bonus payments from profit at PLN 4.218 were up by 2.7% y/y on a monthly increase of 8.2%.

Poland's corporate employment measured 5.491 million people in December, as it rose by 0.3% y/y and down by 0.2% m/m.

The tie up of jobs and wages pushed the nominal corporate wage bill up by 3.0% y/y on a 8.1% monthly increase, calculations against the data showed.

ING BSK Economist Grzegorz Ogonek Said that the data show stabilization on the labor market. In his opinion, such readings will mark the entire year [2014] and by the end of the year the employment growth rate will accelerate to some 1.1%.
