Sejm debates no confidence motion against health minister
January 24, 2014
Health Minister Bartosz Arlukowicz is facing another battle over his dismissal as the lower house of parliament Sejm was debating the no-confidence motion filed by main opposition Law and Justice (PiS) against the minister on Thursday.
The motion will be supported by all opposition caucuses, but the ruling coalition of Civic Platform (PO) and Polish People’s Party (PSL) have sufficient number of votes to reject it.
Vote on the motion is scheduled for Friday.
Meanwhile. Polish GPs criticize Arlukowicz’s idea to burden them with a part of services currently provided by specialist doctors in order to shorten queues, the daily Rzeczpospolita writes citing representatives of doctors' organizations.
Doctors fear that the changes planned by the minister will create queues to GPs and will force Poles to pay for private visits.
