Nosferatu is being staged at Warsaw’s Narodowy Theater March 20 with English subtitles. Directed by Grzegorz Jarzyna and inspired by Dracula, the 19th-century Gothic horror novel by Irish writer Bram Stoker, the play is a metaphysical thriller based on the vampire myth. Vlad Dracula, a Transylvanian Count, sucks the blood of innocents to stay alive.

The Count represents the dark forces within every human being, and the seductive attraction of evil to which any of us can fall prey.

Performances March 20 at 7 p.m. (English subtitles) and March 21 and 22 at 7 p.m.; Narodowy Theater, 3 Teatralny Square
