The first DVD of Loud Jazz Band, entitled From the Distance, Live in Warsaw, will be released in March to commemorate their 25th anniversary.

Formed by Mirosław “Carlos” Kaczmarczyk in Poland in 1989, the band has undergone many changes in lineup. The eclectic ensemble now features Kaczmarczyk on guitar, Kristian Edvardsen on bass, Erik Johannessen on trombone, Wojtek Staroniewicz on saxophone, Piotr Iwicki on synthesizer, Erlend Slettevoll on piano, Maciej Ostromecki on percussion, and Ivan Makedonov on drums.

Loud Jazz Band plays contemporary jazz with an acoustic feel in a variety of styles.

Loud Jazz Band is the only group in Poland to have an album released by Mercury Records, the prestigious British label. Their biggest success so far has been the album 4 Ever 2 U (1994), nominated for a Fryderyk award.
