Sixteen Polish banks to participate in European stress-tests

Sixteen Poland-based banks, including all WSE-listed banks, will participate in the upcoming EU-wide stress-tests coordinated by the European Banking Authority, Poland's financial supervision authority KNF said in a statement.
The list of participating banks includes: Alior Bank, Bank BPH, BGZ, Bank Handlowy, Bank Millennium, BOS, Pekao, BZWBK, BNP Paribas Bank Polska, Deutsche Bank Polska, Getin Noble Bank, ING BSK, mBank, Nordea Bank Polska, PKO BP and Raiffeisen Bank Polska, KNF statement showed.
In line with the European Banking Authority guidelines, all systemically important banks, as well as all listed banks and all banks participating in the quotation of Warsaw interbank rates WIBID and WIBOR need to participate in the stress-tests, the statement said.
The abovementioned banks account for 73% of assets of Poland's banking sector and 80% of sector assets when excluding co-operative banks, KNF said.
Results recorded in the stress-tests by individual banks will be published by KNF's office UKNF, the statement read.
