The birth rate among Polish women in the UK has surpassed those of Britons, Britain’s Office for National Statistics has said.

Poles living in England and Wales gave birth to an average of 2.13 children compared to 1.9 children born of British mothers.

Professor Irena Kotowska of the Institute of Statistics and Demography cited job insecurity in Poland as a major reason for Poles moving abroad, adding that it is much easier to raise children in the UK.
